The days were getting shorter, and the sun's heat seemed to be fading just a bit. There were those extremely hot days that made any dog want to tear his fur off and run as naked as a human, but today wasn't one of those days. It was cool, and a autumn breeze blew in every area of the town. Humans ran around in light jackets, and some now even carried backpacks with them. The dalmatian understood why the humans did this, even though he had never walked one to school like a few of the dogs he had known before did.
Gray eyes watched as a few humans pasted him in the Center, carrying backpacks and smoothies from one of the shops. It was called 'back-to-school-shopping', or at least that's what the alpha had heard one of the younger human males saying as he showed his new bag off to his friends. Axel smiled, and kept his eyes on the groups that seemed to be enjoying themselves, and he began to feel that pull to be back with the humans again. Sighing, the dalmatian laid down on his stomach, placing his head on his paws. To anyone that walked by, he was just another stray that wanted to be left alone, and that's really what he wanted.
Stress in the junkyard hadn't gone away, and the brute wanted nothing more than to just relax and think of old times when he would sit in the firehouse, or by his master's feet in the home that his mother and master's mate was killed in. Those were the good times in his life, and ever since it changed, it had been nothing but work. Closing his eyes, Axel tried to forget about the upcoming war, the new pup that Jewel called 'his new heir' and the growing members that did not respect him the slightest.
"Something has to change." He mumbled to himself, keeping his eyes closed.
